Decision guide

Coffee cart or coffee station in Dubai: which fits your event?

A coffee cart is a staffed barista bar that makes espresso drinks to order, while a coffee station is a self-serve set-up of hot flasks, trays or an urn that guests pour themselves. Choose the cart when about 100 to 200 guests want freshly made coffee, and a station when you want hot drinks without a barista, from AED 40 a flask. ROAST publishes both, so you can compare real totals before you ask for a quote.

The short version

  • Up to about 60 guests who drink karak: trays or flasks, delivered hot, from AED 250 a tray.
  • About 100 guests who want espresso, lattes and milk choices: a half-day barista cart from AED 3,000.
  • A gathering of 30 or more that wants gahwa and dates: a self-serve majlis station from AED 45 a person.
  • Both menus: a cart plus a staffed karak and gahwa station is AED 4,500 + 900 = AED 5,400.

Space and power

Flasks and trays arrive hot and ready to pour. For a cart or a staffed station, ROAST does not publish a footprint or power figure on this site; tell us the venue and the quote confirms what the setup needs. For stands and exhibition floors, see the exhibition cart page.

Worked example: three gatherings

Trays are one 10-cup tray per ten guests, so one karak cup each; they do not make espresso. All figures before 5% VAT, from the published prices.

GuestsKarak traysMajlis stationHalf-day cart
303 x 250 = AED 75045 x 30 = AED 1,350AED 3,000
606 x 250 = AED 1,50045 x 60 = AED 2,700AED 3,000
10010 x 250 = AED 2,50045 x 100 = AED 4,500AED 3,000

At 100 guests the half-day cart (AED 3,000, about AED 30 a guest) is only AED 500 more than ten trays, and it brings a full espresso menu. At 30 guests the cart costs four times the trays, so a station is the sounder buy. See the coffee cart cost page for add-ons, and the cost-per-head guide for per-person totals.

When to use both

For about 200 guests who want espresso and karak, the Signature Bar at AED 4,500 plus the staffed karak and gahwa station at AED 900 comes to AED 5,400. The Coffee + Karak Experience at AED 5,900 adds Cha Cha Chai street food (vada pav, samosa pav and momos). Our event planning guide sets these side by side, and the menu lists the drinks.
